Sometimes the yarn does the work for you

As soon as I saw this yarn (Dream in Color Classy - Into the Mystic), I knew I had to have it and I knew the linen stitch would be perfect to showcase its lovely color blend. It's almost like a chameleon - sometimes it looks like a periwinkle/magenta and sometimes it looks more like a muted aqua/lavender/coral. The pattern is the Jilly Bean Cowl by the fabulous Marly Bird.

Abe approves!

Here's a closeup of the same exact project in another type of light.  It's really quite amazing!

The Burgundy Bewilderment of 2017

My mother-in-law wants a blanket.  In burgundy and beige, she says.  Beige is fine, I can do beige.  Burgundy, on the other hand, is practically impossible.

I present to you 3 different projects I found on Ravelry made with the same color, same brand, same style of yarn:

Podcasts, in particular

I have recently discovered the joy of crochet podcasts.  There are some really delightful ones available these days, I'm happy to say.  Here are a few of my current favorites:

Cozy Cottage Crochet - Hannah is just superb and hilarious. I love her spirit. She inspires me to try new patterns and see them through to the end. (I don't think she sleeps, by the way. There's no way any human can have a job and a house and a family and friends and still get all that fabulous crochet completed, unless they just don't sleep. Ever.)

Crafternoon Treats - I want to be like Kathryn when I grow up. She has a gorgeous garden room, dyes her own yarns, and crochets beautifully. It's relaxing just to listen to her tell you about her latest fiber projects.

Lottie & Albert - Lindsey is precious and she reminds me of a sweet little bunny rabbit (I mean that in the very best way - if you know me, you know how much I love bunnies).  Her crochet work is nice and neat and she has a wonderful presence that is a pleasure to watch.

So grab a cup of tea or coffee and your WIPs and settle down for a great afternoon with these ladies. They're sure to put a smile on your face!
